Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero: Release Date, Full Character Roster & How to Pre-Order

Here’s a breakdown of everything we know so far about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, from pre-order options to the confirmed character roster:

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Release Date

Previously, rumors placed Sparking Zero’s release sometime between spring and summer 2024. This aligns with the game receiving age ratings, typically done when a game is content complete. Ratings in various countries, including a recent one hinting at a 2024 release, further solidify this window.

However, a new leak by notable anime game enthusiast SergioM3R claims to have pinpointed the exact date: October 1, 2024. This information was reportedly datamined from Bandai Namco’s official Sparking Zero website.

Pre-Order

For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X warriors, the battle lines are already drawn! Pre-orders are live at major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target, so you can secure your physical copy and be among the first to unleash your inner Z-fighter. PC and Xbox Series S players, don’t fret – your chance to pre-order will likely arrive soon, so keep your ki charged and your senses sharp.

As of now, a Standard Edition is the only option available, priced at $70. While details about any potential premium packages remain under wraps, the Standard Edition itself promises all the essentials for a satisfying Dragon Ball experience.

Gameplay

Sparking Zero stays true to its roots! The gameplay we’ve seen so far closely resembles its predecessors. Players will choose from a vast roster of iconic Dragon Ball characters and clash in sprawling arenas. Battles will erupt from the ground to the sky, with fighters unleashing their signature moves to dominate their opponents.

Story Mode Confirmed, Split-Screen Out (For Now)

Sparking Zero will feature a story mode, though details remain under wraps for now. Trailers point towards the inclusion of popular sagas from Dragon Ball Z (Saiyan, Frieza, Android, and Majin Buu) and potentially Dragon Ball Super. Fans of fusion characters like Gotenks and Vegito can breathe a sigh of relief – they’re confirmed for the roster!

While local split-screen multiplayer won’t be available at launch due to complications with Sony and Microsoft, the developers haven’t ruled it out entirely. They’re aware of its popularity and may integrate it in the future.
